The Glenbrook Sports Academy's Main building offers two full-length batting cages available for open cage use. One cage is equipped with Iron Mike, a fully automated pitching machine controlled by an on/off switch within easy reach of the batter or coach. A favorite amongst our clientele, Iron Mike is capable of throwing over 300 pitches in one-half hour with pinpoint accuracy. The speed is pre-set and monitored by our staff in order to accomodate each individual hitter. Speed range: 40 to 80+mph.
In addition to Iron Mike, both cages are equipped with the Jugs Baseball and Jugs Softball manual-feed machines. The Jugs Baseball is capable of throwing pitches from 30 to 90+ mph and can simulate fastballs, curveballs, sliders, and knuckleballs. The Jugs Softball has a digital display for accurate speed adjustment.
Either cage can be rented on a one-half hour basis and can be further used for pitching and fielding purposes. Parents are more than welcome to pitch to their own children using L-Screens for safety and protection.
Open cages require advance reservations and may be reserved periodically or on a permanent-time basis.
